In Print Festival of First Books VIII – Muncie Voice

Ball State is preparing to hold its eighth annual In Print Festival of First Books. The two-night festival welcomes authors of recently published first books for a reading one evening, and a panel the next. The books being featured this year are Marcus Wicker’s Maybe the Saddest Thing, Elena Passarello’s Let Me Clear My Throat, and Eugene Cross’s Fires of Our Choosing. Each of the authors is representing one of the three genres of poetry, fiction and nonfiction.

Whether it be the media poems of Marcus Wicker, the fictional dark humor stories of Eugene Cross, or Passarello’s fascinating textbook-like musings about vocal communication, the In-Print Festival will surely offer a great way to step into the literary world for a night or two.

On Tuesday, March 19th, each author will read from their recently published book.

And on Wednesday, March 20th, editor Sarah M. Wells will join the authors for the In Print Panel. They will discuss writing and publishing.

Both events are at 7:30 PM in the Student Center Ballroom. It is free and open to the public, and there will be refreshments and time to meet the authors after each event. Additionally, attendees will receive a free copy of The Broken Plate, Ball State’s national literary magazine.
