Indiana Senate Democrats: The Briefing Room

 Serving as a Page for the Indiana General Assembly is an excellent educational opportunity for students to gain a first-hand glimpse of how the legislative process works. 

What is a page?

Pages are students with an interest in experiencing the inner workings of Indiana government.  For a day during the upcoming 2014 legislative session, students can meet their state senator, tour the Statehouse, and participate in the legislative process on the Senate floor.

Who can page?

Students in grade six through high school seniors may apply to serve as Senate pages while the General Assembly is in session. Students will serve in the State Senate for one day assisting legislative aides and interns with legislative tasks and attending session in the Senate chamber. Volunteering as a Senate page is an excused absence from school.

When can my student page?

In 2014, the General Assembly will meet January 6 through March…
