“Aveda is excited to be hosting the 2nd annual Catwalk event, and we look forward to raising even more awareness about the need for clean water this year. The Catwalk is a fun way to bring the fashion and beauty industry together with environmental advocates to work together for a cause that is important to all of us!” said Natasha Perkins, Aveda Salon & Spa development partner.
Tickets range in price from $20 to $35 dollars and can be purchased at http://brownpapertickets.com/event/598673. Tickets can also be purchased at the door starting at 1 pm.
“Many of Indiana’s waters are already in trouble,” said Amelia Vohs, Coordinator of the Hoosier Environmental Council’s Aveda Campaign, and a lawyer with HEC. “Many of the lakes and rivers Hoosier families visit in the summer are so full of E.coli from polluting factory farms that swimming in them can make us sick. And that is the effect from just one pollutant. However, thanks to funds raised at Aveda events like the Catwalk for Clean Water, Hoosier Environmental Council is changing that. We are pushing for safeguards that will make our water clean again so that this most precious of resources is far more widely used for generations to come.”
In advance of the fashion show, local Aveda salons and retail locations will be hosting a variety of fundraising events with discounted hair and salon services with proceeds benefiting the Hoosier Environmental Council. For a calendar of salon events near you, visit hoosierwaterwarrior.org
